Classic tops, vs new design.

It is possible to see a tendency from football teams and football tops collectors to go back to the oldest days of the teams with the idea of creating new football tops more like the oldest owns at it is possible to see in teams such as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Celtic.

Or even creating a new classic or vintage range of products as it is possible to see in some teams like Leeds, Atletico Madrid, and Bayern Munich that use companies such as Copa to make these tops.

However, there is a trend coming from leagues where football is not a religion such as MLS(USA), and J1L (Japan) where the design of the football tops is a more risky consequence of the lack of history of the teams which helps to introduce more creativity in the top design avoiding conflicts with football fans. As has been the case with Juventus top in 2019-2020; Fc Barcelona in 2021-2022 or this year with Atletico Madrid where the design was a controversial consequence of being against the team's tradition.

However, such designs could be considered sweet by top collector consequence of being special. They could be sold out in weeks as in the case of the Patrick Thistle mascot special edition which was considered and horrible football top but was sold out in only a couple of months.

In my opinion, I think there is a need to make a balance between classic and new ideas; always is good to go out of the box and create a new style of football top for wherever team but it is essential also to respect the tradition regarding colors, crest, or design. It is for that as on this day football teams have at least three different tops during the season; they should respect the tradition in two of them and then be creative with the other one; the factor of being creative could help the team to engage more fans, plus increase the sells consequences of not have always the same design; plus for top’s collectors can generate a new top to wanted.
